Model SF-E.  Our economy KDF shower system (for municipal water) uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy (manufactured by KDF Fluid Treatment, Inc.), the most effective media there is to remove chlorine in high temperature shower water. KDF Back-washing Shower System with Replaceable Cartridge for Municipal Water

Model SF1000. You absorb more chlorine through your skin in one shower than what you typically drink all day. Chlorine can make skin dry and flaky and hair dry and brittle.

This shower filter, now NSF approved, uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy in a specially designed back-washable, replaceable cartridge (backwashing improves the chlorine removal performance and extends life of the KDF). With this technology, our filter has been shown to effectively remove 97+% of this damaging chlorine for up to 18 months (2 people).  Treats about 20,000 gallons--get approximately 2000 five minute showers.  KDF also removes iron, sulfur, pesticides and controls the mold and mildew in your shower. The special interior design of the filter causes the KDF to be "swirled," enhancing contact with the water which improves efficiency. The streamlined "off-set" design only lowers the height 1 1/2", allowing for more head room compared to other filters.

A unique feature is the "Quick Flush" back-wash. Simply twisting the cartridge to the "Flush" mark will reverse the flow "backwashing" to release the sediment that can cause other filters to fail prematurely. Recommended for use in areas where old pipes and can add sediment to your water supply, like in New York City and surrounding areas.  This KDF backwashing filter will prevent clogging from sediment in the water supply.

Must be used with a 2.5 gpm (or less) showerhead for best results (we offer a 2.0 gpm water-saver showerhead as an option). Replacing the cartridge is easy: simply unscrew the holding ring and remove and replace the cartridge.

Overall dimensions: 6.7" tall x 3.75" diameter. Housing material: ABS plastic. Inlet: 1/2" female pipe thread, swivel. Outlet: 1/2" male pipe thread. To install, simply unscrew your existing shower head from the shower arm and screw on the shower filter. Then screw on the shower head to the end of the shower filter.
