Model CT Water Filter. This KDF/GAC (coconut shell Granulated Activated Carbon) unit sits on the counter and easily connects to any kitchen faucet. A diverter valve replaces the aerator on your faucet. In the regular position, water is sent through the aerator. For filtered water, turn on the cold water and rotate the plastic diverter valve knob (now a new more durable, long lasting, valve) - water is sent through the filter and out its own spout; a long reach spout allowing for placement flexibility on your countertop. It removes chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides and more (see What's KDF). Metal components are NSF approved lead-free chromed brass. Uses a replaceable cartridge (part no. KG--included), rated to treat 12,000 gallons. Also removes lead that may be present in old pipes. Flow rate is 1 gallon per minute. Can be converted for under-counter use with our Faucet Kit ($59.95). How can this filter last 3 years (or more)? Our KDF/GAC replacement cartridge weighs over 2 lbs and includes 1 lb of KDF media and the rest GAC (coconut shell Granulated Activated Carbon). Rated at 12,000 gallons -see NSF-53 Standard Test Results.
Our warranty does not cover sediment clogging. If your municipal water contains a high level of sediment, you should add a sediment pre-filter to protect the KDF/GAC filter from clogging. New York City area water is known to have this problem.
