Technical Information
The AAL is a non-regenerable drinking water and general-purpose cartridge designed to reduce fluorides to below 0.5 ppm. It is constructed totally from FDA grade materials and media.
The AAL cartridge utilizes a special fine mesh activated alumina that has been pre-conditioned specifically for single use cartridge applications. Laboratory evaluations have demonstrated that the pre-conditioning step will increase the AAL capacity to as high as 11000 ppm F+ with effluent levels below 0.2 ppm from 10 ppm F+ feed.
High pH, high bicarbonate levels and high flow rates all adversely affect the capacity of the AAL. For best results, do not exceed recommended flow rates and pH conditions. For influent streams above 100 ppm of bicarbonate, reduce capacity by 50%; above 200 ppm, reduce capacity by 75%.
Arsenic
The AAL has also been shown to reduce arsenic to below 0.02 ppm (from 0.12 ppm feed). However, the total capacity for arsenic has yet to be determined.
