Refrigerator water filters are usually cylinder cartridges with either carbon media alone or a combination of KDF (copper and zinc) and GAC (carbon granules) with a 1/4" connect fitting at each end, used to remove chlorine from city tap water. Our filters measure 2" by 10" but they also make 2.5" by 10" cartridges. This type of filter is mounted at the rear of the refrigerator and includes 2 mounting clips, and takes water from a 1/4" copper tubing from the cold water line and connects through the quick connect fitting at the inlet. The outlet of the cylinder connects to the inlet tubing from the refrigerator. This will filter water to your refrigerator ice maker. This cartridge may also be used to filter drinking fountains and for humidifiers. It's commonly referred to as an "inline" filter because it's installed inline from the water source to the appliance.
