Water Filters

Alameda, CA Water Report Quality Analysis

The Alameda, CA water report is online at:
acwd.org/dms_docs/2de8aa450e9d91a26324961e941fbe65.pdf

The water looks good, however they list some contaminants present, though they are below the action level will be removed or reduced by our filters.  Lead was as high as 22 ppb (but averages 5.6--maximum contaminant level is 15). Part of your water is purchased from San Francisco, and chloramines is used as the disinfectant, averaging 2 ppm (higher than normal), TTHMs and HAA5s are listed, common in water using chlorine. Chloramines is chlorine mixed with ammonia.  Fluoride is listed at a high of 1.44 ppm (average 0.96) and we have a cartridge that will reduce it by 90 percent.  Our KDF/GAC cartridge will reduce lead, chromium, chlorine, pesticides, TTHMs and HAA5s. Because the chloramines added is high, our KDF/GAC cartridge may not last 3 years, probably 1 or 2.

I would suggest our double under-counter filter Model UCD-CH for chloramines, lead, chromium, other heavy metals, TTHM and HAA5s, pesticides and organics (countertop Model CTD-CH).   If you'd like to reduce fluoride, we have a cartridge that removes up to 90 percent. Our triple under-counter filter Model UCT-CH-F will remove fluoride, chloramines, heavy metals, pesticides, TTHMs, HAA5s, etc.
