Atlanta, GA Water Report Quality Analysis
The water quality report for Atlanta, GA is online at:
atlantawatershed.org/pdf/WQR2009.pdf
Generally, your water looks good and everything is below the maximum contaminant level. Lead is at 2.5 ppb (maximum contaminant level is 15 ppb) but KDF will remove it along with small amounts of other metals like chromium, copper and barium. You do have HAA5s and TTHMs, present in all municipal systems, but our KDF/GAC cartridge reduces them. Fluoride is from 0.9 ppm and we have a cartridge that will remove it. Chlorine is used as the disinfectant and averages 0.8 ppm and KDF will remove it. See our NSF-53 test at:
http://www.thewaterexchange.net/nsf-53_test.html
Nitrates are listed at 1 ppm, but below the MCL of 10 ppm.
With the above information, I would recommend a single under-counter housing filter with our KDF/GAC cartridge, Model UC at $109.95 with free shipping. If you want to reduce the fluoride, you'll need a second housing. Our fluoride filter, Model UCD-F, includes a fluoride removal cartridge and a KDF/GAC cartridge. It sells for $189.95.
See http://www.thewaterexchange.net/under_counter_filters.html.
We also have countertop filters with the same cartridges.
