Water Filters

Colorado Springs, CO Water Report Quality Analysis

Colorado Springs, CO water report is online at:
http://www.csu.org/residential/water/Documents/item14436.pdf

The water looks good. However, they list some contaminants present, though they are below the action level.  Lead was measured at 4.4 ppb (maximum contaminant level is 15). TTHMs and HAA5s are listed, common in water using chlorine.  Fluoride is listed as high as 1.37 ppm which is higher than normal.  Chlorine is used as the disinfectant and has measured as high as 1.1 ppm but averages 0.49 which is low. Our KDF/GAC cartridge will reduce radon, lead, chlorine, TTHMs and HAA5s, heavy metals, pesticides and organic materials. Radium is listed as high as 0.4 pCi/l which is below the action level (MCL of 5).  If you have a whole house water softener, this removes certain types of radioactivity including radium and uranium.  We have a sodium/softener cartridge that you can add to reduce this type of radioactivity.

I would suggest our single under-counter filter Model UC for chlorine, lead, TTHM and HAA5s, heavy metals, pesticides and organics (countertop Model CT).   If you'd like to reduce fluoride, we have a cartridge that removes up to 90 percent. Our double under-counter filter Model UCD-F will remove the fluoride, chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, TTHMs, HAA5s, etc.or Model CTD-F is the countertop version.  If you want to reduce the radium, you can add a softener cartridge as part of a double filter system, Model UCD-NAK or in our triple system, Model UCT-F-S.
