Generally, Spokane  water looks okay and the numbers are below the EPA maximum contaminant levels, however, lead in your area (from old pipes) has been as high as 5.7 ppb maximum contaminant level of 15) and arsenic has been measured from 2.2 to 5.1 ppb (MCL is 10).  Our  KDF/GAC will reduce lead and arsenic along with small amounts of other metals like nickel, chromium 6, mercury, copper and barium.  You do have TTHMs, present in all municipal systems, but our KDF/GAC cartridge will reduce them.  Fluoride is not added to the water.  Nitrate levels have been as high as 3.6  ppm with an MCL of 10. They use chlorine as the disinfectant, but it's low at 0.40 ppm. Our KDF/GAC  will remove the chlorine.  See our NSF-53 < at:

You do have some low levels of radioactivity, with radium measured from 0.07 to 1.9 pCi/L with the MCL of 5.  If you have a whole house water softener, that can reduce most radioactivity.   Low levels of radon was also found in some of the wells, but the carbon in our KDF/GAC cartridge can reduce it.  We don't sell water softeners, but we do sell a softener cartridge that can be added to an under-counter or countertop filter system.

With the above information, I would recommend our Model UC, a single under-counter KDF/GAC filter for chlorine, heavy metals, VOCs, TTHMs, HAA5s, pesticides, organic materials. (Countertop Model CT).  If you want to reduce the nitrates our double housing Model UCD-N will work.  It removes all that the UC removes plus nitrates. To reduce the radium, you can add our sodium/softener cartridge.  That would require a triple filter system.  See .

We also have countertop versions of our filters that connect to most kitchen faucets.
