Wolcott, NY Water Report Quality Analysis
The current water report for Wolcott, NY is at:
wolcottny.org/Village/2009AQR.pdf
Generally, your water looks good, though Lead is at 2 ppb (maximum contaminant level is 15 ppb) but KDF will remove it along with small amounts of other metals like chromium, copper and barium. You do have HAA5s and TTHMs, present in all municipal systems, but our KDF/GAC cartridge reduces them. Fluoride is at 1 ppm and we have a cartridge will remove it. Chlorine is not listed anywhere in this report, but they must add it, and it will probably be 1 ppm--you can call your company to find the amount. Our KDF/GAC cartridge will remove the chlorine. See our NSF-53 at:

You do have some low levels of radioactivity, but below the maximum contaminant level. Alpha Particles at 1.1 pCi/l (MCL is 15) and Beta Particles at 2.5 pCi/l (MCL is 50). If you have a whole house water softener, it will reduce the Beta Particles. Alpha particles require reverse osmosis. We don't sell softeners, but we do sell a softener cartridge that can be part of a filter system.
With the above information, I would recommend a single under-counter KDF/GAC filter system for chlorine and heavy metals $109.95. Or, if you want to remove the fluoride, use our Model UCD-F double under-counter system for $189.95. If you are concerned about the radioactivity, you can add a third housing with our sodium softener cartridge.
See http://www.thewaterexchange.net/under_counter_filters.html.
We also have countertop versions of our filters.
