We offer two filter configurations suitable for filtering well water that contains iron and hydrogen sulfide. Both filters use our Doulton Silver Steraysl ceramic filter for removing 99.9 percent of bacteria, cysts and sediment down to 0.5 micron, with an absolute filtration of 0.9 microns and our KDF/GAC cartridge for removing iron, hydrogen sulfite, heavy metals (lead), organic arsenic, VOCs, THMs, chemicals and pesticides. For a well system, our KDF/GAC cartridge should be replaced yearly and our ceramic cartridge can last 3 years and can be cleaned up to 40 times.

Model CTD-CW. This dual-cartridge countertop unit has a Doulton Silver Sterasyl ceramic pre-filter to effectively remove harmful bacteria, such as E. Coli, Fecal coliform, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia), and sediment down to 0.9 micron (absolute). The cartridge can be cleaned up to 40 times (about once a month). Click for Performance Data. The second cartridge is the KDF/GAC filter. This KDF/GAC (Granulated Activated Carbon) and ceramic pre-filter unit sits on the counter and easily connects to any kitchen faucet. A diverter valve replaces the aerator on your faucet. In the regular position, water is sent through the aerator. For filtered water, turn on the cold water and rotate the plastic diverter valve knob (now a new more durable, long lasting, valve) - water is sent through the filter and out its own spout; a long reach spout allowing for placement flexibility on your countertop. It removes chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides and more (see What's KDF). Uses a replaceable cartridge (part no. CF--included), rated to treat 12,000 gallons for chlorine however, for well filtering it should be replaced yearly. KDF/GAC also removes lead that may be present in old pipes. This filter will remove iron and hydrogen sulfide from well water. Flow rate is 1 gallon per minute.
