Whole house water filters are designed to install in your basement, or crawl space where you water line enters your house, also know as a point-of-entry installation. Here, you will filter all the cold water entering your home, so you won't need individual under-counter or countertop water filters, or shower filters. Model WH-1. This KDF/GAC unit connects to the main water line to filter the entire house - all faucets, showers, and baths will have clean, filtered water! The water first passes through a high-flow 1 micron sediment pre-filter. This deep pleated cartridge has maximum filtration with minimum pressure loss (only 0.25 psi at 8 gallons per minute). Then the water enters the main tank where KDF and granulated activated carbon (GAC) remove chlorine, heavy metals, tastes, odors and chemicals. Click for whole house filter media specifications. Components are NSF listed and rated for pressures up to 125 psi. Both have 1" female pipe thread inlet and outlet, but can be adapted down to 3/4" plumbing. WH-CER. This multi-cartridge Whole House Bacteria Filter is an innovative new product from Doulton. It offers the same protection as our under-counter filters using their high quality ceramic cartridges in a Big Blue style under-counter filter housing (15" tall x 6" diameter). It's the first whole house ceramic bacteria filter utilizing an array of 6 Doulton brand Sterasyl cartridges for the best protection against bacteria and cysts. It's tested and NSF approved, certified to remove 99.99 percent bacteria and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia) including e-coli and other types of bacteria. The ceramic cartridge array can filter down to 0.5 microns, with an absolute rating of 0.9 microns, guaranteed. And they can be cleaned up to 30 times before requiring replacement. The Doulton ceramics are also sold under the name British Berkefeld.
The WH-CER includes a Big Blue housing with a 1" inlet/outlet to allow a maximum flow rate, an array of 6 Doulton Sterasyl cartridges, wrench and instructions, designed for whole house filtration. These filters have been tested to remove e-coli from lake water. We recommend adding our SPF-1 whole house sediment filter as a pre-filter to extend the life of ceramic array.
