We have been selling water filtration products to remove fluoride, chlorine, bacteria, arsenic, heavy metals (lead), hydrogen sulfide, sodium, nitrate, microorganisms, scale and other contaminants since 1997 specializing in municipal water filtration (city water, tap water) using KDF® media (made of copper and zinc).  We offer chlorine filters for municipal systems, fluoride filters, arsenic filters for wells, plus systems for removing bacteria using the Doulton sterasyl cartridge, sodium removal, heavy metal filters (KDF removes metals, pesticides and other chemicals).  KDF® is  the main filter media in all our systems from whole house water filters to under-counter and countertop.  In fact, KDF combined with any type of carbon (GAC or carbon block) will extend the life of the carbon because KDF protects against harmful bacteria growth.  Most system at your local hardware store use carbon alone to remove chlorine, and require replacing filters from 3 months to 6 months.  That's because carbon is susceptible to bacteria growth.  However, the copper and zinc in KDF produces zinc oxide which inhibits bacteria and extends the life of our cartridge to 3 years--controls microorganisms.  See our NSF-53 test data.

Our cartridges remove 99.9 percent chlorine (KDF neutralizes chlorine), heavy metals (lead mercury aluminum iron barium cadmium chromium copper nickel) are removed by attaching to the surface of the copper and zinc.  Also removes pesticides, Trihalomethanes THMs, MTBE, inorganic arsenic and inhibits bacteria and mold formation.  GAC will remove organic materials and radon gas in water by a process called adsorption with 99 percent efficiency.

Filter Types

Carbon Block:  reduces rust, sediment, taste, odor, chlorine, chloramines, trihalomethanes, lead particles and VOCs

GAC: granulated activated carbon reduces chlorine, rust and sediment, taste, odor, THMs, VOCs, radon and MTBE

Ceramic: removes bacteria, cryptosporidium (cysts) and sediment

KDF/GAC: reduces chlorine, heavy metals, pesticides, arsenic, dissolved lead and particles, iron, mercury, THMs, VOCs, hydrogen sulfide, barium, cadmium, chromium, MTBE and taste and odor

Activated Alumina: reduces fluoride and arsenic

Reverse Osmosis with carbon: reduces all of the above plus removes calcium, magnesium and potassium

Distillation with carbon: reduces all of the above

Sediment: pleated or wound cartridge for reducing sediment with different micron ratings

Common contaminants our water filters will remove

Arsenic.  Causes bladder, lung & skin cancer; may cause liver and kidney cancer.
Chlorine.   By-products may contribute to cancer, birth defects and heart disease.
Lead.   Can cause organ damage and lead to mental retardation.
Cryptosporidium.  A microbe that can harm people with weak immune systems.
Cadmium.  A heavy metal that can cause breast cancer, kidney damage and bone disease.
Bacteria. Can cause serious illness or death. Use ceramic pre-filter, reverse osmosis or UV purifier to remove.  Power outages can disrupt water flow causing contamination.
